Teaser TextFrankly, I’m a bit disappointed. On receiving my invitation to attend the biggest customer bash since the M30 was launched a decade or so ago, I was looking forward to driving a 4x4 Multicar up a ski-slope in the name of science. It was my fault, I’d not read the invitation properly. True, we were meeting at the impressive Jever Skihalle in Neuss, Germany, but that was because it has a car park big enough to take all the cars and coaches needed to transport 1 800 visitors and the infrastructure to look after them all day with endless supplies of “wurst”, “zuppe” and beer. Inside was a massive ski-slope but, more importantly to this story, outside there was an impressive line-up of the special equipment on Multicar chassis. There were also several conference rooms where key speakers from local authorities across Germany shared details (and copious statistics) on how the “multi-purpose tool carrier” approach to public sector operations saved them money, improved staff utilisation and gave a better quality of service. Not a bad list of attributes for such a small vehicle, you’ll agree?
