Viridor Withdraws Planning Application

After listening to comments from local residents, Viridor has taken the decision to formally withdraw its current planning application

The application proposed to treat a wider range of recyclable material at its Lancots Lane facility. The site remains operational and is recycling materials as per its permitted historical operation.

Viridor's regional manager, Steve Newman said: "We have decided to withdraw this planning application as it became evident that there were concerns from local residents regarding the proposed operation. The need to ensure the future viability of this site, which provides essential business recycling services, and therefore safeguard jobs, remains imperative."

"Going forward we will be reassessing our plans to decide how we adopt changes. We are committed to communicating with our site neighbours throughout this process and will keep people up to date through our website and site liaison group."
