Skills Survey Seeks Answers To Industry Questions

22 September 2011

Astute recently launched a skills survey at the RWM in partnership with CIWM event in Birmingham last week to look at how employment in the waste management industry has been affected by recent economic climate

The survey is looking to answer key questions such as:

  • How is the Economic situation affecting recruitment activity in the Waste Management industry?
  • How many businesses have increased headcount in the last year?
  • What skills will be in most demand within the Waste Management industry over the next 12 months?

The answers to these questions could be very valuable to organisations needing to formulate staffing plans for 2012, says Astute.

The survey is confidential and the results will be shared with everyone who takes part and is available to complete online at the below address.

The surveys welcome statement states: "We are all aware that the necessity to manage waste more efficiently is driving significant growth in the Waste Management industry. Market reports have indicated that our industry will need to employ an additional 50,000 by 2020 - an increase of more than 35 percent.

"We are interested to find out what the current/short term employment plans are in the industry and have commissioned a survey to coincide with the RWM event in September 2011. This skill trend survey only takes 10 minutes and aims to provide a snapshot of industry staffing plans in 2011/2012.

"Anyone who completes the survey will receive a free copy - enabling them to see how their plans align with those of the rest of the industry. The survey has just twelve questions - please click on the Start Survey button below to progress through the survey".
