Sponsored by Shanks, The National Recycling Stars scheme supports and rewards UK organisations that are committed to increasing the amount of waste they recycle and improving the environmental awareness of their staff
Organisations are awarded up to three stars depending on their level of recycling excellence and, to ensure this level is sustained, Stars are reviewed on an annual basis.
Shanks is supporting a series of events that brings together businesses with key figureheads in the recycling and environmental sectors to ask questions and gain advice on how to make their workplaces more sustainable.
Over half a day, issues covered will include practical information on how to improve recycling rates and the impact of the latest legislation. Participants will come away with tips and ideas that will inspire their management and colleagues alike and make a real difference to their company's sustainable operations.

"A lot of businesses are unaware of the impact of waste on their bottom line," said Austen Lees, Head of Corporate Communications, Shanks Group, "and through the Recycling Stars programme, we are working with businesses large and small providing advice on how to improve their recycling rates. We hope to see a lot more of this type of collaborative working with the recent launch of the Responsibility Deal between the Government and waste industry."
Both events are free to attend but places are limited.
