Twelve months after the sale of its parent company, temporary waste storage systems provider, OTTO Waste Solutions, has undergone corporate re-branding and acquired a new name
The re-branding is a result of the group's sale to Stirling Square Capital Partners in July last year. Stirling Square acquired ESEH Group, European environmental products and services provider, from the OTTO Group, which now focuses on the Americas and Asia.
OTTO Waste Solutions has become ESE Ltd and will continue to provide a broad range of sustainable products and services to support its customers in optimising waste management and achieving their sustainability targets. Alternative concepts for managing residual waste and recycling solutions will continue to be provided and further developed.
"What has not changed," says Derek Monk managing director of ESE Ltd (formerly OTTO Waste Solutions), "is our extensive UK market knowledge and understanding, our experience in important sectors such as local government and our commitment to, partnership working, customer service and support and our ability to deliver our promises."
Beginnings
Established in Germany as a family business over 75 years ago, ESE World one of the leading players in temporary waste storage solutions and is active in Europe, the CIS, North Africa and the Middle East. The group employs approximately 900 staff and operates two main manufacturing sites in France and Germany.
Monk adds: "The OTTO brand was strong in the UK but doesn't reflect the extensive market knowledge and expertise that the company and ESE World has to offer."
"The new name, company structure and improved business model we have introduced, will provide UK customers with the benefits new vision, leadership, investment and the transfer of knowledge from our pan-European activity and continued research into finding alternative concepts for managing residual waste and recyclable materials."
"The UK is facing new challenges that require a new approach by everyone concerned," says Monk.
"This will be partly through a broader product and service offering, but mainly through extensive product and material research and development. We're aiming for the lowest possible environmental impact and to increase the longevity of our products."
"There's tremendous pressure to provide efficient waste collection systems based on tough recycling targets for councils and resource pressures for developers.
"The challenge," says Monk, "is to achieve tough targets with minimum impact on the environment and in a way that's cost-effective.
"The innovation, technology and application that we've introduced and has been used in mainland Europe since the early 1990s, is indicative of ESE's leading role in waste collection, management and recycling."
