Kim Humphreys will now join the legal team of Covanta Energy as a Legal Counsel. Kim has more than 20 years of experience as a construction lawyer, both in private practice and in-house. Before joining Covanta, he worked at Carillion plc as the legal director for infrastructure.
Commenting on his new role, Kim said: "I am looking forward to the new challenge this job will bring. I look forward to the challenge of dealing with the wide range of issues that arise when building process plants on the scale proposed by Covanta. The complexity of the physical and legal structures demands clear and effective contracts and my primary focus will be to ensure that the construction contracts are drawn up thoroughly so that projects can move into and through construction smoothly.
"I am looking forward to being part of a developing company and seeing Covanta's Energy from Waste projects progress. Energy from Waste is a technology that has significantly improved over the last few years. We simply cannot continue to landfill our waste, so using it to create clean, renewable energy seems the best option."
