Teaser TextOver the last 200 years or so Britain has led the world in the application of science and in scientific research and development. Brunel’s inventiveness sparked the Industrial Revolution, which continues to this day to transform the demographics of developing countries such as China and India... not without consequences, but unstoppable and positive nonetheless. But for all of this, science often only makes the headlines when it is being challenged, yet the basis of science is to continuously review and challenge, to discover and learn. What is important is the accuracy of the experiments, the way data is used and interpreted, peer review and so on. But there are two major problems with the interface (read “media”) between science and the general public.
