Teaser TextA Green Enterprise District and the 2012 Olympics provide the right environment for cleantech businesses in London Thames Gateway, proving to the world that London has a pivotal role to play, as Gateway to London’s Bob Doyle explains A lready one of the busiest regions in the UK, London Thames Gateway (LTG) is putting the Government’s pledge of £9bn to help create jobs and develop an “eco region”, among other aims, to good use. The region is attracting international interest and, even during these tough times with businesses tightening their belts, a lot is still happening here. Cleantech, the term given to a small number of leading-edge technologies designed to make better use of resources and committed to finding cleaner and greener ways to transform 21st Century living, already generates more than £24bn for the UK economy annually, so the Government’s investment in London Thames Gateway – the UK’s number one cleantech destination – is certainly money well spent.
