Certficate in Wastes and Resource Management

This is a Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) which can be used to demonstrated 'Operator Competence' where relevant as part of the CIWM/WAMITAB Operator Competence Scheme.

This Certificate consists of undertaking approximately 4 -5 days of classroom based training plus a work based assignment to be completed within a couple of months of completing the course.

The qualification consists of the following units:

Mandatory Units:

  1. Environmental Impact of Waste and Resource Management
  2. Waste and Resource Management - Policy and Legislation
  3. Permitting Requirements and Compliance in the Wastes and Resource Management Industry
  4. Health and Safety in the Waste and Resource Management Industry
  5. Technical Aspects of Managing Waste and Resources

Optional Units (choose one of the following):

     6a. Physical and Chemical Processing within the Wastes and
           Resource Management Industry

     6b. Biological Processing within the Waste and Resource
           Management Industry

     6c. Thermal Treatment Processing within the Waste and Resource
           Management Industry

     6d. Land Remediation within the Waste and Resource Management
           Industry
