DCLG publishes plain English guide to the Localism Act

With the Localism Bill receiving Royal Assent earlier this week, the Department for Communities and Local Government has published a plain English guide to the Localism Act. The document provides an overview of the main measures of the Act under four headings:

new freedoms and flexibilities for local government;

new rights and powers for communities and individuals;

reform to make the planning system more democratic and more effective; and

reform to ensure that decisions about housing are taken locally.
