CIWM welcomes HPA's report on health impacts of landfill

CIWM has welcomed the Health Protection Agency's (HPA) report on the health impacts from UK landfills, and its conclusion that "a well managed modern landfill site does not pose a significant risk to human health". This is a timely study that takes into account a range of scientific evidence and provides an authoritative assessment of the current situation, as well as useful recommendations for further research.
