CIWM has a track record of working closely with UK Trade and Investment (UKTI, especially on inward delegations to the UK to our annual conference and exhibition, leading to their largest ever number of delegates at Futuresource 2010.
Whether you're a seasoned exporter or just beginning to expand overseas, talking to UK Trade & Investment is one of the best moves your company can make. Through a range of unique services, including participation at selected trade fairs, outward missions and providing bespoke market intelligence, we can help you crack foreign markets and get to grips quickly with overseas regulations and business practice.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) commissioned SQW Consulting in March 2008 to review opportunities in the markets for environmental goods and services, renewable energy, carbon finance and CATs (excluding nuclear) in Australia, Brazil, China, India, South Africa, Turkey and the USA. The reviews showed:
• the extent to which there were significant opportunities in terms of market scale and/or growth in the countries
• the more detailed investigations that businesses would need to carry out before selling to or investing in the relevant markets and countries
• significant market opportunities for the UK given its relative strengths in the different sectors and technologies, especially in solid wastes and waste water management.
UKTI organise trade missions for UK businesses to other countries and for briefings / meet the buyers events around the UK in addition to their delegations to major trade events. Details of these are made available to CIWM and these are presented for CIWM members-only via this website. Click on the link in the right hand menu to see the most recent announcements.
From time to time CIWM organises study tours for members to see sustainable resources and wastes management in other countries.
