Sustainable Facilities Management Performance of the Year

This award focuses on the sustainable management of any facility, public or private (for example, colleges, office blocks, hotels, hospitals, leisure centres) or from specialist facilities management organisations.

Sustainably managed facilities have the potential to have a large and extremely positive effect on the environment and the people that use them, and this award is aimed to promote and celebrate excellence in the way those facilities are managed.

Entrants will be measured against each of the following criteria and will articulate how they believe they have achieved successful outcomes in each of them:

  • How has the facility reduced its environmental impact by the use and sourcing of sustainable products and materials or via reuse

  • How has the facility reduced its generation of waste and emissions

  • How has the facility increased the rates of recycling or recovery of any waste produced

  • How does the facility promote best practice and encourage users to be sustainable and waste aware in their use of the facility
