Plant and Equipment of the Year (all other forms of vehicle and equipment)

Vehicles, plant and equipment are crucial in the waste management and resource recovery industry as the demands of sustainable waste management policies and legislation drive the creation of a modern, integrated network of reprocessing, recycling, recovery and disposal facilities. The transport and processing equipment used at these facilities have always been crucial in helping the industry to function effectively and is key in helping us move from a disposal culture to an integrated, resource efficient, society.

This award will recognise the innovative design and manufacturing aspects of all vehicles relating to wastes management and/or resource recovery assessing elements of health and safety, technology and the sustainability of material used in production.

Entries should include:

• evidence of being fit for purpose

• best health and safety practices

• use of technology

• the sustainability of materials used in production

• production process and end of life recovery

• the impact on global warming.

Accompanying the application should be a written submission describing in no more than 1,000 words how the vehicle meets the criteria and may be supplemented by photographs.
